RYAN CROASDALE'S goal gave Harriers a great 1-0 away win at Stockport County which included their tenth clean sheet of the term.

After a fine 2-0 win over Harrogate in the last game, it was perhaps very little surprise that John Eustace named an unchanged line-up from midweek; the only change to the sixteen being on the bench, where young goalkeeper young goalkeeper Tom Palmer replaced the out-on-loan Wayne Thomas.

Harriers are used to racking up chance after chance before finally beating down an opposing door - the opening 20 minutes of this one was arguably an exercise in tasting your own medicine as the reds worked hard to keep Stockport at bay.

While Truslove wasted the best and only chance of the visitors' in that spell, Hornby up at the other end was excelling himself to twice keep Hooper at bay, as well as pulling off a very smart save to deny Marsden at close-range.

Dieseruvwe spurned another Harriers chance past the half-hour mark, Harriers almost paying for that seven minutes before the break as Hornby again stood strong to hold on to a drive from Marsden as he'd burst through.

It took until the end of the first half for Harriers to get their first effort on target for the day - it was mighty close as Gnahoua's shot after great work from Francis-Angol saw Hinchcliffe get down well to block it with his body.

Hornby was again the busier of the two goalkeepers by far after the restart, close to the hour mark he did brilliantly to dive high and get a fingertip to Hooper's shot that was struck with real venom before going over.

Perhaps against the run of play, Harriers took the lead six minutes later when a low finish from Croasdale tucked away McQuilkin's cross.

Then it was the proverbial kitchen sink - Harriers forced to withstand some more, major pressure, none more so than when Tunnicliffe, bloodied and bandaged, rushed to clear after Hornby could only parry a deflected shot into a pack of bodies.

Against all of that, Harriers went within inches of putting all of that unease to bed in four minutes of added time.

They broke through Francis-Angol and, with only Brown in sight, a goal looked certain until Hinchcliffe threw himself at it in style to ensure the deficit stayed at one.
