ASH Carter is eager for Kidderminster Harriers to bounce back from their 2-0 FA Cup first round defeat at Blackpool by stepping up their National League North promotion push when they visit high-riding FC Halifax Town on Saturday.

Carter, who mixed a midfield role with defensive duties during the Bloomfield Road clash, admitted Harriers' players were “gutted” by their disappointing cup exit.

The 21 year old said: “I thought the lads coped well at times, but they were two cheap goals and it took the wind out of our sails a little bit.

“Everybody is gutted, head in hands stuff and it's only right because we deserve to be where we are. Hopefully next year we can go further and further, but for now it's over.

“We have got to bounce back in training this week and put it right on Saturday.”
