Harriers boss Steve Burr felt his side could have taken all three points against York, after watching them play out a high-quality 1-1 draw at Aggborough against their Blue Square Bet Premier play-off rivals.

The hosts had the best of the game but were thwarted by Minstermen keeper Michael Ingham on Tuesday night, who produced a string of fine saves.

Chris Smith had headed the away team ahead in the 57th minute with their first real chance, before substitute James McQuilkin’s free-kick earned a point.

Harriers had already recorded a fine win at Bootham Crescent in December and Burr was satisfied with four points off York.

"I would have taken four points off York at the start of the season but on the evidence of the game we thoroughly deserved to win the game,” commented Harriers’ manager.

"Ingham's had a fantastic game and he's been the busier goalkeeper.

"When they went ahead that was their first attempt on goal.

"When they went ahead that was their first attempt on goal. We're a bit disappointed we didn't put a challenge in but we kept going as we have done all season , got back into the game and were perhaps a bit unlucky not to get three points.”

Burr was also full of praise for keeper Tony Breeden, who since stepping up two levels from Leamington has proved to be a reliable safe pair of hands.

The shot-stopper also produced the game’s best save, showing razorsharp reactions to get a hand to a cross from Adriano Moke which had deflected off Harriers’ skipper Mike Williams.

"Mike Williams needed to get a touch on the ball but Tony got down really well and it was a bit like Gordon Banks's save when he had to get down the flick the ball out.

"He's done super he's been here. Tony just gets on with it, he's a strange character and we love him to bits and he's a typical goalkeeper, you can't get any sense out of him at times.

He's a come from a lower level showing a lot of people you can make the step up."
