Harriers boss Steve Burr felt his side could not have done any more after Tuesday’s stalemate at Tamworth on Tuesday night.

The Aggborough outfit had a slew of chances at The Lamb Ground but had to settle for a point because of a combination of tenacious Tamworth defending and wayward finishing.

On four occasions, Harriers had chances cleared off the line, while Anthony Malbon had a goal ruled out and Ryan Rowe missed a late opportunity to bag what would have been a deserved win.

With Mansfield, Gateshead and Grimsby winning, Harriers slipped two places to ninth in the table and with seven games to go they are five points off the play-off spots.

“I am quite amazed because I thought it was an excellent performance,” commented Burr.

“I’ve just said to the players goals win matches but we couldn’t have done any more the way we played and passed the ball.

“For me there was only one side who tried to win the game.

“We created enough chances to win three games.”

One player who stood out in an overall promising team display was winger Marvin Johnson, who looked dangerous down the left wing and tormented Lambs right back Duane Courtney.

The January signing from Romulus feels he’s starting to find his feet at Blue Square Bet Premier level.

“I’ve been itching for a chance for a while to be fair and it’s here now and I’ve got to take it with both hands, I can’t afford to slip-up or hold back,” said the winger.

“I had already heard Harriers play youngsters so I knew if I joined I wouldn’t just be sitting on the bench, I knew they were going to give me my shot and that’s what they have done.

"All I’ve got to do is prove to them they have made the right decision.

“I am starting to find my feet because, when I first started against Lincoln I was on edge but I feel a lot fitter and can see out games at the quicker tempo.”
