  • Referee:
  • Venue: Aggborough
Final score:
Kidderminster Harriers 0 - 1 Kettering Town

Kidderminster Shuttle: whistle icon 94:00: Final whistle Harriers' goal-drought continues. They played well in patches had chances and were a bit unlucky not to grab a late lellever. Harriers' players felt it over the line but when you're stuggling for goals you don't get any luck at all.

94:00: Oh my god! Harriers are denied by a goal-line clearance by James Jennings. From David McDermott's corner, Smikle bulletts in a firm effort but the former Birmingham City many clears it off.

89:00: Harriers have four minutes added time to rescue something from this game.

88:00: Gavin Caines tries to shoot from 35-yards out but his effort is very high and wide.

Kidderminster Shuttle: Goal icon 85:00: Goal! Jean-Paul Marna steps it up and fires it to the left of Dean Coleman, who dives to his right.

84:00: Harriers concede a penalty after Dean Bennett pulls down Jean-Paul Marna.

Kidderminster Shuttle: substitution 81:00: Substitution Darryl Knights will have to wait for a goal when he is replaced by David McDermott.

80:00: Great play by Harriers. Matthew Barnes-Homer and Brian Smikle link up well to set up Dean Bennett. Inexplicably he tries to pass instead of shooting and John Dempster can block.

Kidderminster Shuttle: substitution 79:00: Substitution Jean-Paul Marna replaces Francis Green.

Kidderminster Shuttle: yellow card 77:00: Yellow card Gavin Caines is booked for a foul on Damien Spencer.

76:00: Dean Bennett fired in a 25-yard pile driver that hit Exodus Geohaghan and went behind for a corner.

75:00: Robbie Matthews almost punishes Kettering for an error. John Dempster mis-controls a cross and it falls to the striker, who curls it just wide.

74:00: Robbie Matthews rises well to meet Duane Courtney's free-kick but the keeper easily takes his looping header.

Kidderminster Shuttle: substitution 70:00: Substitution Double substitution for the Poppies. Darren Wrack replaces captain Lee Fowler, while Danny Thomas comes on for Gareth Seddon.

67:00: Brian Smikle tries a Thierry Henry-like backheel after another decent run and low ball from Duane Courtney. The keeper reads it well and blocks.

66:00: Robbie Matthews failed to test Lee Harper. It was a decent break by the hosts and Duane Courtney delivered a nice cross. Robbie Matthews steals in at the far post but heads the ball into keeper's arms.

65:00: At least Dean Bennett is putting another good shift in. He tracks back to the right-back position and wins the ball with a crunching tackle on Francis Green.

60:00: Decent build-up sees Matthew Barnes-Homer slip the ball to Brian Smikle. His low effort deflects wide off John Dempster.

58:00: At the minute nothing is really happening, both teams have really lacking inspiration.

55:00: Harriers are hit on the break but the danger passes when Francis Green's pass to Damian Spencer very off target.

54:00: The highlight of this half has been the cup of luke warm tea that has just arrived for me. Yum, yum.

53:00: Damian Spencer sees a low shot drag across the face of goal.

51:00: Harriers have a free-kick but Matthew Barnes-Homer's effort hits the wall.

49:00: Gareth Seddon fires in a firm low shot that canons off a Harriers player for a corner. Harriers defend it well.

46:00: That first half got better but this game need a goal-shaped injection to really get it going. Let's hopes that Harriers. The home side have done well to force Kettering back and prevent them from using Exodus Geohaghan's super long throw-ins.

Kidderminster Shuttle: whistle icon 46:00: Half time Plus two; That's the break. An even first half, with both teams carving out decent half chances to take the lead.

45:00: Plus one: Robbie Matthews causes more chaos in Kettering's box. He neatly controls Chris McPhee's low ball and as he turns to shoot it takes Exodus Geohaghan and James Jennings to stop him.

45:00: Dean Coleman denies Patrick Noubissie with a fine diving save after the powerful midfielder strode goalwards and held off Duane Courtney.

40:00: Dean Bennett thumps a low 25-yard effort that flashes just wide of Lee Harper's right post.

38:00: Harriers come close again. Chris McPhee and Darryl Knights combine well to release Robbie Matthews on the left. He rushes onto the ball but instead of hitting first time he takes a touch and allows John Dempster to block his effort.

37:00: From a free-kick, Chris McPhee forces a corner. Darryl Knights' delivery is a bit long and Martin Riley stumbles to reach it at the far post.

34:00: Dean Coleman does well to dive onto Gareth Seddon's pacey right wing cross.

33:00: Harriers have really cranked up the pressure. From a corner, the ball falls to Brian Smikle and he volleys a firm effort just over. This is better from Harriers.

32:00: Robbie Matthews almost makes James Jennings pay for a defensive error. The full-back heads to the ball straight to the big striker and from 20-yard out he hits the ball just over the bar.

31:00: Harriers almost hit Kettering on the break. From an away corner Dean Bennett and Matthew Barnes-Homer link well and try and release Brian Smikle but he's blocked by James Jennings.

30:00: Harriers have imposed themselves on the game but at the minute they lack the cutting edge to open up the visitors.

Kidderminster Shuttle: yellow card 25:00: Yellow card Robbie Matthews is booked for a high challenge on John Dempster. He's so tall that he connected with the Kettering man's head.

24:00: Lee Baker delivers a deep cross and Robbie Matthews rushes and heads wide.

23:00: Harriers win their first corner of the game. Darryl Knights angles it to Chris McPhee, who plants a header wide from 12-yards out.

21:00: Robbie Matthews continues to impress. This time he delivers a nice right wing cross. Matthew Barnes-Homer steals in but he's shepherded by Exodus Geohaghan.

15:00: Robbie Matthews leads a break down the left and he tries to chip the keeper but it sails over the bar.

13:00: Robbie Matthews is looking very useful. He controls a cross just outside the box, deftly slips it up Chris McPhee on the right. His cross loops over but keeper Lee Harper, who looks a bit heavy, takes it.

10:00: Kettering look dangerous and thumps in a low shot that Dean Coleman does well to get down and get the merest touch to divert behind. From the corner Harriers defend well.

7:00: Gavin Caines cleared a shot off the line! Francis Green raced onto Andre Boucaud's pass and evades his marker and keeper Dean Coleman, who rushes out in a desperate bid to stop him. The Kettering hitman does well to evade him and loops in a shot from a tight angle but Caines does well to track back and hook it away.

6:00: It's an even start. Kettering show some signs of threat when striker Damian Spencer runs into goal but shoots across goal.

0:00: Kettering, who have the same points and goal-difference as Harriers, line-up in a similar 4-3-3 formation at the home side. Lee Harper is in goal, with Nicky Eaden at right-back and James Jennings on the left of defence. Exodus Geohaghan and John Dempster are in defence. In midfield, Kettering have Patrick Noubissie in the holding role and Lee Fowler and Andre Boucaud supporting. Kettering's strikers are Gareth Seddon, Francis Green and Damian Spencer.

0:00: Good evening Harriers fans, welcome to Shuttle Online's live match coverage of Harriers v Kettering. There are no changes from the side that drew 0-0 at Ebbsfleet. Harriers will be aiming to record their second win of the season in the Blue Square Premier. They will be aiming to avenge last season's defeat to the Poppies, which killed off their hopes of reaching the play-offs.
