HARRIERS V LEWES (FA TROPHY)
- Kick off: 6:45pm Tue 19 Jan 10
- Venue: Aggborough
- Final score:
- Kidderminster Harriers 3 - 2 Lewes
94:00: Final whistle Well, that was lucky for Harriers, they looked as though they might blow it but Gavin Caines was the hero.
90:00: Goal! Gavin Caines to the rescue! Darryl Knights and Brian Smikle saw shots saved by Rikki Banks and the centreback lashes in an effort into the back of the net. Lucky Harriers.
89:00: Yellow card Jack Walder is booked for a foul on Brian Smikle!
83:00: Goal! Harriers have paid the price for falling asleep. Louis Pople races onto Kane Louis' pass, and slots the ball beyond the keeper.
79:00: Goal! Oh dear! Martin Riley's poor header is pounced on Kane Louis. Dean Coleman scrambles out of his area and Aaron Hopkinson shoots into an empty net.
75:00: Lewes substitute Lewis Crellin sees a long range effort fly wide. Dean Coleman should have had it covered.
70:00: Decent move from Harriers goes to waste when Duane Courtney's cross goes out of play.
67:00: This is too easy for Harriers. The second goal has killed off Lewes and the hosts are stroking the ball around listlessly. Brian Smikle cuts in and sees a low shot held at the second attempt by Rikki Banks.
63:00: Good move by Harriers. The ball's played to Aaron Farrell in the box and he deftly knocks it to Brian Smikle, who is offside.
62:00: Substitution Williams Peauroux is replaced by Jamie Crellin.
60:00: Lewes have their first meaningful shot on the hour mark. Jack Walder avoids a rash challenge by Martin Riley, drives forward and steers a low effort wide.
58:00: Substitution Aaron Farrell comes on for Robbie Matthews.
56:00: Substitution Kane Louis comes on for Fred Foreman.
54:00: Robbie Matthews sees a free-kick flash wide.
51:00: Goal! Darryl Knights scores his first goal of the season. Chris McPhee slaloms through some weak tackles and pulls the ball to Knights, who powers the ball into the back of the net.
50:00: Brian Smikle gets a sight of goal but a sliding block by Ryan Timms denies him.
49:00: Harriers hit Lewes on the break. Nathan Hayward plays it to Brian Smikle, he sweeps the ball to Darryl Knights. The forward cuts in and sees a shot deflected wide.
46:00: Nathan Hayward replaces Dean Bennett.
45:00: Half time Plus one min: It could have been a lot bigger scoreline but John Finnigan will be happy with the performance and the lead. A second goal early in the second half and this could be a rout.
43:00: Damian Spencer almost marked a good display with a goal. Robbie Matthews collects the ball on the right and delivered a fine cross, which his strike partner headed into the keeper's arms at the near post.
37:00: Harriers could be 4-0 up if they wanted. This time Damian Spencer backheels the ball to Brian Smikle. He delivers a low raking cross from the right that just evades a skidding Robbie Matthews.
33:00: Close! Darryl Knights slips the ball to Duane Courtney on the right. He delivers a lovely cross and Brian Smikle stoops but his head deflects wide. No corner given though.
28:00: Chris McPhee almost scores! Brian Smikle roves into the box and pulls it back to Chris McPheel, who sees his firm shot fly over the bar.
26:00: Harriers have stepped up a gear. From Lewes' corner Brian Smikle runs the length of the pitch. He decides to square the ball to Darryl Knights but the ball is put behind for a corner.
26:00: Martin Riley runs in and heads the ball behind for a corner with Tim Rivers lurking after Gavin Caines' poor header.
20:00: Harriers have had all the play but have not displayed any cutting edge. No doubt after three weeks off they're a bit rusty.
17:00: Harriers are still bossing the game but Lewes are working hard. The lucky goal still seperates the teams.
11:00: Goal! Robbie Matthews sees a low fee-kick take a deflection off Lewes' wall and angle into the back of the net. It all came from a foul on Damian Spencer by Chris Breach.
10:00: With no sign of an announcement of a new manager, there's a lot of speculation around Aggborough. Jeff Kenna is here though!
7:00: Pretty even start so far, Harriers have had more of the ball but yet to threaten.
3:00: Harriers have started quite purposefully. Damian Spencer shoots well over the bar from just outside the area.
0:00: Caretaker boss John Finnigan has selected a full-strength side. Lee Baker makes his first start since his sending off at Fleetwood in October.
0:00: Good afternoon Harriers fans! Welcome to Shuttle Online's live match coverage. It's been just over three weeks since Harriers last played and we're relieved to see a game.
