Harriers moved back into the play-off positions in the Blue square Bet Premier with a two-goal victory over the bottom club.
They got off to a flying start with a third minute goal from Ryan Rowe but couldn't make their superiority count until late in the game when Jamille Matt headed home the second goal in the 83rd minute.
Matt also missed two other great chances - one in each half - when he only had the goalkeeper to beat but failed both times.
And Harriers were thankful to defender JoshGowling for a goalline clearance from McConville in the second half when Barrow came close to an equaliser.
