New deal bliss for Nathan as Austin leaves
2:36pm Friday 25th January 2013 in News
HARRIERS have rewarded rookie striker Nathan Blissett for his promising performances with a new deal.
The towering centre forward has made an encouraging step up from Romulus, netting three goals.
The 22-year-old has made 27 appearances for Harriers since joining in August.
Meanwhile the club have said goodbye to defender Ryan Austin.
Austin never settled into Harriers' team after joining from Burton as a free agent in the summer.
He has spent the last two months on loan at Conference North Brackley.
But he would struggle to dislodge first choice centre backs Chey Dunkley and Josh Gowling.
“Ryan has enjoyed his time at Brackley and we have obviously moved on a bit here and it has been difficult for him to get back in the side," commented Harriers boss Steve Burr.
“But he has been terrific since he’s been here and he is the type of lad I like because when he wasn’t playing he just wanted to goand play somewhere and wasn’t content to just pick his money up.”
There will be a pitch inspection at 9.30am to make sure tomorrow's home game against Woking (3pm) will go ahead.
Wyre Forest is braced for more snow this evening but the club is confident of the match being on.
