Mixed results for Harriers' play-off rivals

HARRIERS' play-off rivals suffered mixed results over the weekend.

While Steve Burr's side did not play because of a waterlogged pitch at Newport County the pressure was on their opponents to close the points gap.

But the fifth-placed Reds remain four points ahead of Luton, who have three games in hand, after they lost 1-0 to Barrow thanks to former Harrier Adam Boyes' early strike.

The Hatters slipped to sixth and were replaced in sixth by Mansfield, who defeated promotion rivals Dartford 5-0. Paul Cox's Stags are three points behind the Aggborough outfit.

Cambridge and Macclesfield were also pushing hard on Harriers heels, seeing off AFC Telford and Macclesfield respectively.

Harriers take on Redditch United in the Worcestershire Senior Cup at home on Tuesday night (7.45pm ko).

They return to action in the Blue Square Bet Premier on Saturday at home to Cambridge United (3pm ko).
