STEVE Burr was pleased to see his side beat Chester 3-1 at Aggborough, despite not being at their best.

Goals for Josh Gowling, Marvin Johnson and Joe Lolley ensured three wins out of the first four matches in the Skrill Premier.

The Carpetmen are now second in the table, just one point behind leaders Cambridge.

But Kidderminster were not at their best against Chester, who have lost all four of their league matches since winning the Conference North title.

"I am pleased to get the win,"said the manager.

"It was a tough game for us, I  didn't feel we quite got into our stride but in saying that Chester came here and made it difficult for us.

"I think Chester will be alright, I know the haven't had the best or starts but looking at them they will be okay.

"I think a couple of weeks ago I said we'll play a lot worse than we did at Alfreton and win and that's what we've done."

One of the highlights of a scrappy affair was a home debut for substitute Joe Lolley, who replaced Anthony Malbon.

He added: "It was great to young Joe get his debut goal which gave us a bit of a cushion over the line."
