Burr: More like it from Malbon
8:33pm Sunday 15th September 2013 in News
MANAGER Steve Burr feels striker Anthony Malbon is getting back to his best after he scored in yesterday's 2-1 win over Hyde at Aggborough.
The young hitman bagged his second goal of the season with a left-footed curling effort into the top corner.
Tom Collins then levelled but Michael Gash bagged a second near the end of the second half.
Last season, Malbon was top-scorer with 21 goals but he has yet to find that ruthless form.
"I thought Anthony Malbon was back to how we know he can play," commented the Harriers boss.
"The goal he scored was quality but I thought his overall performance was what we've come to expect of him.
"I feel has he struggled a little bit and it was nice to see him play as well as he did."
Harriers were not at their best against the Skrill Premier's bottom side but still had too much fire power for strugglers from Cheshire as they rose to sixth in the table.
"We're not quite firing yet but it is nice to pick up the three points and push on," said Burr.
"There are certain areas we can improve on but it was nice to see the two centre forwards get on the score sheet with two quality finishes.
"Fair play to Hyde, it just shows how strong this league is that they came to play and feel aggrieved they didn't get something out of the game."
Harriers will be looking for a third straight win when they take on local rivals Tamworth on Tuesday night (7.45pm ko).
