PREVIEW: Bradford PA v Harriers
6:00am Saturday 26th October 2013 in News
STRIKER Nathan Blissett is winning his battle to be fit for tomorrow’s FA Cup fourth qualifying round clash at Bradford Park Avenue (3pm ko).
The young striker had looked set to miss out after injuring his knee in last week’s win over Lincoln City.
But after the problem was assessed and the extra day’s recovery was factored in, it looks as though he may be available for selection.
Assistant boss Gary Whild said: “Nathan’s knee injury is not as bad as we first thought and with the game being on a Sunday there’s a chance he will be available for the FA Cup game.
“Bradford will be a test as they only just missed out on the play-offs last but we go into the game in good form.”
Meanwhile, Whild has said that hot-shot rookie striker Joe Lolley is still improving, after forcing his way into the first team over the last five weeks.
The 21-year-old has attracted the attention of Football League clubs in recent weeks with a series of impressive displays and bagging three goals.
Lolley signed in the summer after spending the last two season playing for Midland Combination side Littleton but has made the step up from level six of non-league to level one look effortless.
He said: “Clubs are always looking for someone to put the ball into the back of the net and Joe and burst onto the scene.
“He’s still got areas to improve but there’s no doubt he’s an exciting prospect.”
Harriers will be aiming to book their place in the first round proper at the Horsfall Stadium and they are unbeaten in seven matches in the Skrill Premier.
But the Carpetmen, who are second in the table, face a Bradford side who are unbeaten in 12 matches.
