DANNY Lewis believes Harriers can kick-start their promotion chase when they take on Skrill Premier strugglers Lincoln City away tomorrow (3pm ko).

The Aggborough outfit go into weekend ninth in the table, four points off the play-off spots.

But with games in hand over higher-placed Nuneaton, Halifax and Salisbury, Harriers are still very much in the hunt for the Football League.

While the country has been hit hard by heavy rain in recent weeks, Lewis is confident the match at Sincil Bank will not to be in jeopardy.

That’s in stark contrast to Harriers, who saw last week’s clash against Cambridge called off because of the wet weasther.

He said: “Josh O’Keefe had a spell at City and he said that the drainage and pitch are excellent there and they don’t really have games off.

“After losing to Gateshead we wanted to play as soon as we can and put things right but obviously the Cambridge game was called off which was frustrating.

“People may look at the table and see we’re four places behind the play-offs but we have games in hand on quite a few of the sides and above us. If we can start stringing a few results together we’ll be back in the top five.”

With their training ground at Brintons Chainwire too wet to use, the team has been training on Sutton Coldfield Town’s 3G pitch and at Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre.

Manager Andy Thorn said the squad had a few bumps and bruises to assess and that striker Anthony Malbon had been affected by a virus this week.

Meanwhile, 16th-placed Imps have bolstered their squad by adding former Luton midfielder Arnaud Mendy and Birmingham City keeper Nick Townsend on a youth loan. Winger Mitch Austin has been recalled by Cambridge.
