BOARD member KEN Rae has taken the reins as Harriers chairman until the end of the season.

The former Redditch United chairman was given the job after a meeting with the board of directors.

Rae has been a director for the last two years and the club will be hoping he can bring some stability after the departure of Mark Serrell and his wife Ruth from the club.

In a statement on the official web site he said: "As a Board we cannot thank Mark and Ruth Serrell enough for what they have done but, as they would agree, the most important thing at this moment is that our focus remains on the current playing season.

"We have another huge game on Tuesday evening and I'd really like to ask that all supporters please get behind their manager and their players."

Rae was chairman at Redditch for three years but sold the club to Chris Swan in 2011 after the Reds were hit by financial difficulties.

Rae said he had put in excess of six figures into the club over his time but could no longer go on.
