FORMER England goalkeeper Tim Flowers has joined Harriers' coaching set-up.

Manager Gary Whild has moved swiftly to make an addition to his back-room staff with the arrival of former Premier League winner as a coach.

The 47 year-old had previously worked as a goalkeeping coach during Gary’s previous tenure as assistant manager.

Flowers has impeccable credentials in the game having played well over 500 games for the likes of Wolves, Southampton and Blackburn Rovers.

He has both a runner-up and winner’s medal in the Premier League from his time at Ewood Park, not to mention 11 caps for his country at senior level.

After hanging up his gloves in 2002 he has worked extensively as a coach, with spells as assistant manager at Coventry, Queens Park Rangers and Hull City prior his most recent stint in the Football League where he was assistant and, later, caretaker manager at Northampton Town.

Having left the Cobblers earlier this season, Flowers now comes to Aggborough where he has previously worked as a goalkeeping coach during Gary’s previous tenure as assistant manager.

“I think everybody knows about Tim’s background,” said Whild.

“He will be a big influence and it will be great to have someone of that experience and knowledge around the place.

“He’s as keen as mustard to be involved and his CV speaks for itself – I am sure he’ll be a big asset.”
