FORMER Harriers defender Mark Creighton has bolstered manager Gary Whild's coaching staff.

He’ll now take up a coaching role back at Aggborough alongside Whild and Tim Flowers.

The Aggborough outfit will be hoping to utilise his experience of a total of three play-off campaigns including one promotion, and close to 300 competitive non-league and Football League experience.

Creighton, nicknamed 'The Beast' in Wales, played 158 times for Kidderminster between 2006 and 2009 and helped the club reach the 2007 FA Trophy final.

He also captained Harriers when they played Coventry City in the FA Cup third round during the 2008-09 season.

Creighton worked with Whild as a young defender at Redditch United before he earned his move to Harriers after catching the eye of then boss Mark Yates.

Leaving in 2009 for Oxford United, Creighton was an instant success at the Kassam Stadium, helping the U’s achieve their ambition of promotion back into the Football League thanks to an epic play-off final success at Wembley.

He then joined Wrexham on loan in November 2010 and made his move permanent. The uncompromising defender was a big hit in North Wales but his career was cut short by a series of serious knee injuries.
