HARRIERS fans are set to put their best foot forward to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support next week.

Fifty-two supporters, including legendary player Mick Tuohy, will kick-off a 65 mile two-day trek taking them from Aggborough to Forest Green Rovers from 6am on Monday morning.

They will arrive at The New Lawn to watch the Reds take on their play-off rivals in the Skrill Premier.

The charity event was organised in honour of former KHIST chairman Steve Millington, who lost his battle with cancer last year.

Wyre Forest manufacturing firm Beakbane donated £500 to sponsor the red tops walkers will wear on Tuesday, taking the amount raised to £17,000.

With a bucket collection during Saturday’s game against Grimsby Town and the Forest Green Rovers clash, organisers Dave Pountney and Karl Davies are hoping their target of £20,000 will be surpassed.

Local companies such as Go Outdoors have also pledged cash.

Over the two days, walkers are expected to burn up 10,000 calories, which is four times the recommended daily amount for the average male.
