GARY Whild has backed captain Kyle Storer to bounce back from his latest suspension as Kidderminster Harriers continue their pursuit of the play-off spots in the Skrill Premier.

The midfielder has been hit with a three-match ban for violent conduct by the FA after an incident in the Reds’ draw with Salisbury on March 29.

It means he will miss Saturday’s clash against Welling (3.07pm ko), a game Harriers must win to boost their top five aspirations following last weekend’s 1-0 loss to Grimsby and Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Forest Green Rovers.

Storer will not be available for Tuesday’s home game against Cambridge United (7.45pm ko) but can return for Friday’s clash against already relegated Hyde (3pm ko).

He had only recently served a two-match suspension for picking up ten yellow cards and a one-game ban for a handball at Salisbury.

“That’s one game out of the way for Kyle and the matches he is back for might be crucial,” said the manager.

“I think he’s a passionate player. You have to temper that by being on the right side of the law but you can’t take that out of him.

“He’s only played two games since I have been back, so fair play to the rest of the lads for carrying on without an influential player, I think they’ve stood up to the mark.

"I still think there's a fantastic opportunity to finish in the top five."

After four draws and one defeat, Kidderminster are six points off the play-offs and have no room for error.

Josh Gowling (pelvis) and Danny Jackman (ankle) are still doubts for Saturday but Callum Gittings is back from his suspension.
