GARY Whild's impressive job of stabilising Harriers has seen him rewarded with the manager's job next season.

Whild has agreed a 12 month rolling contract with the Aggborough outfit.

He has made an impressive impact since replacing Andy Thorn in March at the helm, reviving the club's play-off hopes and losing just one game in 12.

Chairman Ken Rae said: " Gary has done fantastically to motivate the players over the last few weeks - I think it's been quite obvious that they are doing as much as they can for him and this has been reflected in results and performances.

"In bringing Gary in as manager in March we said we wanted to give ourselves the best chance of finishing this season with a bit of momentum and that's exactly what we're achieving.

"While we may not be in a position to finish in the top five now, we do feel the need for a little more stability is important after the season we've had.

"I'm delighted for the club and delighted for Gary."

Whild has also held extensive talks with a number of members of the squad at Aggborough with a view to securing their services beyond the current season and we hope to have more news on these developments within the coming days.
