Halifax 1, Harriers 1

NATHAN Blissett bagged a leveller as Harriers ended the 2013-14 Skrill Premier season with an entertaining draw in Halifax.

The big striker rose higher to head home a cross from Lee Vaughan to ensure it was honours even in the 30th minute.

Halifax, who had already booked their place in the Skrill Premier play-offs, had opened the scoring after 58 seconds.

Harriers paid the price for not bring switched on in the opening minutes and Josh Wilson headed home at the far post from an accurate Adam Smith cross.

The draw ensured manager Gary Whild has lost just once in 13 games since taking over as the club finished seventh in the table.

The Aggborough outfit recovered well from their early setback and battled back into the game.

Amari Morgan-Smith saw an effort ruled out for offside in the 13th minute, while Amari'i Bell forced a good save from Matt Glennon.

Scott McManus saw his 20-yard shot ruled put as the referee had already blown for a foul on Lee Vaughan.

But Harriers hitman Blissett made it 1-1 with his third goal of the season.

Chey Dunkley then headed wide from a free-kick on the stroke of half-time.

With a top five spot already sealed, Halifax had not to start with top scorer Lee Gregory and at the start of the second half, Glennon was taken off  and replaced by Phil Senior as a precaution.

The keeper was soon in the thick of the action, tipping over a fine volley from Blissett and scrambling an effort away from Bell.

Lewis also had to demonstrate his skills, showing speedy reactions to tip over Wilson's lofted effort.

Amari Morgan-Smith then wasted a gilt-edged chance to fire Kidderminster ahead. He was teed up perfectly by Blissett, only to fire over the bar from 12-yards.
