HARRIERS boss Gary Whild has made his first swoop of the summer by securing the services of striker Craig Reid.

The 28-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal this afternoon.

The hitman, a product of Coventry's youth team, enjoyed the best spell of his career playing for Newport County in the Conference and scored 66 goals in 112 games in all competitions.

He then joined Stevenage as their record signing for £90,000 in January 2011, scoring on nine occasions to help Boro clinch promotion to League 1 before going on to score 12 times in a struggling Aldershot side at the foot of League 2.

Last summer he moved to Southend United but after limited first-team opportunities under Phil Brown, he returned to Stevenage in a bid to help them avoid the drop in League 1.

However as a free agent he’s now opted to return to the top-tier of non-league football for the first time since that red-hot spell with Newport.
