FORMER Forest Green Rovers hitman Reece Styche became the second striker to join Harrier in the space of two days.

The 25-year-old joined the Aggborough outfit on a two-year deal.

Born in Sutton Coldfield, Styche began his career with Hednesford and made the move to the New Lawn in January 2010 before going on to score 37 goals in 77 starts in the Conference.

The Gibraltar international left Rovers in January and spent the second half of the season with League Two side Wycombe Wanderers. He’s overcome injury problems in the last couple of years to get back to full fitness, playing more than 20 times towards the end of the Conference and League 2 campaign.

With former Newport and Stevenage forward Craig Reid also signing yesterday, Harriers boast an impressive group of strikers.

The club already have last season's top scorer Michael Gash, Anthony Malbon and Nathan Blissett on board.

Manager Gary Whild is keen to add some cutting edge to the Reds, who rallied once he took over as he guided them to seventh in the Conference Premier.

“Anybody will tell you that it’s that end of the pitch that makes the difference," said Whild.

“If we are very critical of the 13 games when I came back, we had one defeat but probably too many draws when two or three of them should have been wins.

“If you look at the likes of Reece and Craig, I am sure they would have played a part and nicked a goal to help us turn those draws into wins.”
