KIDDERMINSTER Harriers are set for an earlier than expected reunion with former boss Steve Burr after Chester were given a Conference reprieve.

The Deva Stadium outfit have been saved from relegation to the Conference North and reinstated to the Premier following Hereford United’s expulsion.

Burr left his position as Harriers manager under mysterious circumstances in January, sparking outrage from disgruntled supporters.

Such was controversy over the news that chairman Mark Serrell and wife Ruth quit the board several weeks later.

After leaving Kidderminster, the former Stalybridge boss took the reins at relegation battling Chester and was unfortunate to see them relegated when they were pipped to safety by United.

However, the beleaguered Bulls are looking for a new league to play in, after failing to meet deadlines from the Conference over paying back their football creditors, who they owe £148,000.

Meanwhile, current Reds manager Gary Whild continued his plans for the 2014-15 campaign by securing midfielder Aman Verma on a one-year deal last week.

“I’ve known Aman for a long time and was pleased to be able to bring him back to the club last season,” commented the former Redditch United manager.

“I felt, even though his chances in the team were limited, he still gave a very good account of himself.

“His attitude is first class, he’s versatile and he’ll give us more competition in squad which is always something you need.”

Harriers now have 19 players registered for next season but the priority will be the full-back positions after the departure of Mickey Demetriou to Shrewsbury and Lee Vaughan to Cheltenham.

Meanwhile, season tickets for the coming campaign are now available from Aggborough.

Fans can collect their books from the ticket office between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
