MANAGER Phil Mullen admitted his frustration after Bewdley Town lost their first two games of the West Midlands Premier.

The Ribbesford Meadow outfit were shot down 4-0 by Ellesmere Rangers on Saturday and 3-1 at home to Malvern Town, despite a Dan Flowers consolation effort.

He said: “It’s been frustrating because the team have created chances.

“I feel for the players, because they are working hard and are committed but things aren’t going our way.

“I would be worried if we weren’t creating chances but we are and hopefully things will settle down.”

Town though face a tough task in the Extra Preliminary Round of FA Cup when they go to Bromsgrove Sporting on Saturday (3pm).

The Victoria Ground side play at the equivalent level to Town in the Midlands Football League Division One.

Sporting are the successors to Bromsgrove Rovers, a club who once reached the third round and played Barnsley in the 1993-94 season.

Sporting are manager-less after Adrian Mander resigned last week, leaving Ross Collins and Les Palmer looking after team affairs.

Mullen also had two spells as a player at Rovers and also managed them between Bobby Hope’s two spells at Bromsgrove.

He said: “I have very fond memories of Rovers I enjoyed my time at them as a player and a manager. But I have no allegiance to Sporting. It’s going to be a hard game, Sporting get big crowds but we’re looking forward to it.”
