GARY Whild was furious after Harriers were held to a frustrating draw by bottom of the table Telford yesterday.

The Reds boss felt his players had dropped below the high standards they have set so far in the Vanarama Conference.

They saved their poorest performance of the campaign for the visit of their derby opponents.

Aman Verma had opened the scoring with his first goal of the season, only for Andy Todd bagged a well-struck 79th minute leveller to earn the Bucksma fully-deserved point.

"The lads have had a lot of praise for their performances this season but it was nowhere near good enough," commented Whild.

"Opportunities come along and we're not taking them. We got nothing at Wrexham, we got a draw against Telford and that's why we're ninth and not in the top five.

"We never got started. The message to the lads after Wrexham all week was that we need to start brightly, we need to play with plenty of energy but that was devoid across the pitch."

He added: "Our goal came out of nowhere, it was a good delivery by Kevin Nicholson and a good header by Aman Verma.

"But other than that I didn't see balls go into the box and I didn't see their keeper make saves.

"We keep saying we want to be in the top five but if this performance is a reflection of where we are you can see why we're ninth.

"There are no easy games in this division. If you turn up and if you're not quite right there's a chance you're going to get turned over.

"I didn't see anything from us at all any desire, energy or work rate."
