GARY Whild has said Kidderminster Harriers’ eight-game winless streak is hurting him and the players.

The Reds look to end a two-month wait for a win when they visit struggling Torquay in the Vanarama Conference on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Whild blamed the poor results on a lack of confidence compounded by the club’s cashflow problems causing instability.

“I know what people have said about Mark’s comments last week but that’s because he’s an ex-player who cares for the club and knows what fans expect,” said the Kidderminster boss.

“It hasn't been easy for Mark Creighton or myself, we’re hurting and so are the players," said the manager.

“If the players didn’t care then many could have found a way out when the problems began.

“Instead they stayed to try and do their best for the club but when you see good players and friends leave and aren’t paid it is bound to affect confidence.

“I’ve always felt the players’ attitudes have been good but when you’ve had instability it will have an effect.”

With Jack Byrne sidelined by a hamstring injury, Callum Gittings looks set to be drafted back into the side. Craig Reid is also set to miss out with a knock picked up against Eastleigh.

Whild is also hoping tonight’s fans' forum with the club’s board of directors, will also shed light on his playing budget for the 2015-16 campaign.

Meanwhile, Jordan Tunnicliffe has joined Hednesford Town on loan for the rest of the season, although the club has a call back option after a month.

He said: “It’s like Nathan Blissett and Marvin Johnson going there.

“We like Jordan and depending on what our budget is for next season, he’s the sort of player we’ll be looking at.”

Meanwhile, Whild also thanked BBC commentator Steve Miller for persuading him to stay on as manager after last week’s 3-1 loss to Eastleigh.

“It was nice what Steve did for me, he reminded me of all the players I had brought in and made money for the club as well as the likes of Lee Vaughan and Mickey Demetriou," he added.

Hoping to discover some of the plans for next season at the FF - such as budget.

Once knows that, he can start making decisions on whether to release players.

On Torquay “It must be difficult for Torquay, they would have wanted to bounce back from relegation but have struggled.

“We have reiterated to the players that we want to end the season as best we can and have seven games left.

“We’re on a bad run at the moment, but during my time at the club that has only happened once before when we didn’t win for ten games.”
