HARRIERS paid the price for Reece Styche's dismissal as they were shot down by an impressive Wrexham side at Aggborough on Tuesday night.

Kidderminster were trailing to Manny Smith's goal first half goal when their front man was dismissed in the 51st minute for two bookable offences.

Sean Newton bagged a second for the Welsh side but the hosts improved when substitute Andre Wright made it 2-1.

But as home team pushed they were caught by Adam Smith's late effort.

The hosts made two changes from the side which lost to Guiseley.

Aman Verma returned after an ankle problem, while left-back Andrew Fox made his debut after joining on loan from Peterborough, which saw Craig Reid and Jake Green move to the bench.

The game started at a frenetic pace with both sides creating chances.

Wrexham, backed by a large travelling crowd, saw dangerous forward James Gray fires a good effort just over.

The lively forward then had a flying header just go wide.

The hard working Styche did well to battle his way into the box but his effort rolled wide of the box in the 12th minute.

But the hosts got back into the game and nearly opened the scoring in the 19th minute but from an Adam Dawson free-kick, Tahvon Campbell's effort was deflected wide.

But Kiddy fell behind in the 21st minute.

Manny Smith rose highest at the far post to meet a Newton free-kick and with keeper Dean Snedker flat-footed, the defender headed home.

Wrexham took control of the game and kept possession as Harriers chased shadows.

Harriers had moments and the impressive Dawson finished off an incisive run with a curling cross that forced defender Javan Vidal to head over his own goal.

Jordan Tunnicliffe also directed a header over the bar but the hosts went int half-time trailing.

But Kidderminster were left with a mountain to climb after a disastrous first ten minutes of the second half.

First they were reduced to ten men after Styche picked up two yellows in as many minutes.

He and Smith were booked for a scuffle in the 50th minute.

But the Harriers hitman was shown a second yellow for a foul on Smith which left him on the floor.

To make matters worse, Newton made it 2-0 on the 55th minute with a free-kick which curled into the bottom left corner.

Despite the setbacks, Harriers searched for a lifeline, with Verma heading wide and Fox steering a shot just off target.

From a Dawson corner, Verma's 71st minute corner pushed away by keeper Cameron Belford.

Harriers grew in confidence and pulled a goal back in the 80th minute.

Substitute Wright escaped his marker at the far post from a Dawson free-kick and headed home a lifeline via the post.

The goal breathed life into the home side and they were better side as they pushed for a leveller.

But they had to be wary of Wrexham counter-attacks and Snedker pulled off a fine diving stop to deny Dragons replacement Adam Smith.

Wright then fired a left-footed effort over the bar as Kiddy drove forward.

With five minutes of time added on, the hosts drove forward but were punished in the 95th minute when Adam Smith best Snedker with a deft chip.
