HARRIERS were beaten in their first game under the stewardship of temporary boss Colin Gordon as they were sunk 3-2 in an entertaining affair at Bromley in the Vanarama National League.

Under new management for the first time since Gary Whild's departure, Harriers made three changes to the game; introducing Luke Maxwell after a three-match suspension and handing youngster Jordan Jones his first start for the cluab.

In addition, West Bromwich Albion pair Tahvon Campbell and Andre Wright once again swapped around as the former replaced the latter in the 11.

Campbell was certainly the star of the opening stages as his pace caused more than a handful of problems for the home side - he helped supply Luke Maxwell with just a few minutes on the clock but the midfielder's shot was comfortably over the bar.

The lead went the way of Harriers with 20 minutes played and it was from a move that showed confidence that belied the team's league position.

Toner charged forward and combined with Campbell before playing in striker Gurjit Singh, who slotted a low cross into the area that was missed by everyone defending in white as the ball landed at the feet of Jones who did the honours of finishing for his first professional career goal.

Yet the hosts may well have been level just a few moments later as the visitors were found wanting at a quickly-taken free-kick, Emmanuel slipping behind the back line and driving at Alex Palmer who made a fine, one-handed save to stop the shot.

Bromley sensed a little blood and continued to pepper the away goal, duly finding reward when, after Jared Hodgkiss was adjudged to have committed a foul on the edge of the area, Dennis bent home a superb free-kick finish from distance.

Through Porter and Holland, Bromley might well have immediately taken the lead though Harriers just about escaped, Dennis then almost getting a second on the stroke of half time as he drove in to the side netting.

And it was the worst possible start to the second half for Harriers, another self-inflicted wound as sub Udoji's weak cross was mistakenly turned in to the path of Emmanuel by Jordan Tunnicliffe, the marksman making no mistake by slamming the ball past Palmer.

Harriers' keeper was equally as helpless on 57 minutes when the home side stretched their lead from the penalty spot.

Cook stepping up to dust himself off from a Langmead challenge to power the ball in to the top corner of the net, but Kiddy hit back seven minutes later when the industrious Jones bagged his second; driving from more than 25 yards with a shot that deflected up and beyond Chris Kettings and into his net.

Pushing for an equaliser, Harriers continued to create chances, which set up a truly end-to-end finish, Wright's chance perhaps the best of the bunch as his diving header arrowed over the bar of angle and post.
