CARETAKER boss Colin Gordon says Kidderminster Harriers will play their way out of their difficult situation as they prepare for a tough trip to Barrow tomorrow.

The Aggborough outfit continue to search for their first win of the season at Holker Street as they strive to end a testing week on a high.

With Gary Whild departing, Gordon has taken the reins temporarily as Kidderminster search for a new head coach.

Gordon, who is director of football development, was in charge for Tuesday night's 3-2 loss at Bromley.

He's drafted in former Hearts defender and Coventry City coach Neil McFarlane to assist him.

Gordon, who is also McFarlane's agent, does have coaching experience, having managed Stourbridge and worked at Wolverhampton Wanderers and Walsall. He also had a brief spell under Graham Allner at Kidderminster.

Kidderminster Shuttle:

"We've brought Neil McFarlane to help out and the players are loving it," said Gordon.

"He's without a job at the moment, until his agent pulls his finger out and gets him one, so he's come into help.

"The lads are getting top level coaching and you can see how much they enjoy it.

"We want to play football the right way and you could see it against Bromley; where we started a move in the left-back position and finished it with a goal on the right wing.

"We want watching Harriers to be an enjoyable experience and to bring in a head coach who fits in with the club's philosophy.

"That's why we want to bring in a head coach rather than a manager with a contacts book.

"You see teams launch the ball forward for players to chase and they do that because of fear.

"We want to do things differently at Kidderminster, it's not always about money."

Four goal hitman Gurjit Singh will miss the game because of a groin strain, while Jordan Jones is expected to shake off a calf injury.

Barrow boast a formidable home record with four wins and a draw but they suffered defeat to Aldershot a Holker Street.
