DAVE Hockaday cannot wait for Kidderminster Harriers’ crunch FA Cup derby clash at Stourbridge on Saturday.

Kiddy face a potential banana skin in the fourth qualifying round (3pm ko) at the Glassboys.

While Kidderminster are two divisions above their neighbours, Stourbridge are flying high in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier.

In contrast, the Reds are bottom of the table and haven’t won any of their 18 Vanarama National League games.

Harriers’ head coach is aware of the cup fever, with the game set to sell out and over 400 Kiddy fans attending the Memorial Ground.

He said: “It’s a big game, there’s going to be a huge crowd and it’s a match that everyone is looking forward to.

“If I was a player I would be really licking my lips for this match and would want it as soon as possible.

“I met Gary Hackett after the Ilkeston game and it’s clear there are good people at Stourbridge, but when we step out onto the pitch we’ll be trying to win the game.

“We need to start winning soon, I felt we should have beaten Southport and we were punished by an error.”

Hockaday had his first uninterrupted week with his squad and has now assessed the players at his disposal.

He’s keen to bring in new faces but may have to wheel and deal under the club’s tight finances.

“We need to be sharper in both boxes and it’s clear what areas need improvement,” said Hockaday.

"I know the people I want to bring in and I will talk to the club and see what we can do.

“I came to the club because I feel it has a great future but we also have to deal with the here and now.”

Hockaday may try and move players out in order to free up funds.

Joe Clarke, who was one of the club’s marquee summer signings, has joined Brackley on loan with a permanent move a possibility.

Former Southampton academy prospect Matt Young, who also played for Sheffield Wednesday, Carlisle and Dover, has also signed on non-contract terms.
