KIDDERMINSTER Harriers chairman Rod Brown has slammed the players’ lack of desire after yesterday’s 3-0 FA Cup humbling at Stourbridge.

In a strongly worded piece on the club’s website, the former Redditch United manager said he felt for the fans left heartbroken by their team’s poor performance.

The chairman is set to talk to the players this week as the club return to their relegation battle in the Vanarama National League at home to Woking on Saturday.

"Losing a game of football is something you can accept in the right circumstances, but that was far from acceptable today and I feel for our supporters,” said the chairman.

"They have been very patient and understanding that the club is in a period of transition at the moment, but there is no excuse for a lack of passion and a lack of desire.

"I want our fans to understand that what I saw as Chairman of the football club hurt me as well, and it is something I will speak to the players about personally next week.

"We have lost games this season but have always been competitive - today we did not show the desire to compete and that's the very least that those paying their money to watch Kidderminster Harriers deserve."

Meanwhile, towering hitman Callum Hassan has claimed on Twitter he is no longer at the club.

Hassan had joined on non-contract terms and immediately won over the supporters with a goal against Altrincham.

He posted: “Good luck to @khfcofficial for the season! Feel so sorry for the fans, such support. I am no longer a Harriers player.”
