COLIN Gordon took the positives from Harriers' behind the scenes 2-1 loss to Aston Villa.

Ben Whitfield scored in Friday's match as Kidderminster levelled the scores, only for Villa's under-21s side to edge it.

"I was very pleased," commented Gordon.

"We had an intensity to pass the ball but also to work hard and win possession against a very hard-working Villa side.

"All of the work we've been doing to in preparation for moving the ball around quickly and looking after it, paid off.

"I was disappointed with the goal we conceded to make it 1-1 because, again, it was [from] our possession in the final third and that's something we have to work on.

"Every time we give the ball away cheaply in the final third, it seems to hurt us - we have to learn to look after the ball and be patient.

"That's a lesson we'll take but, to be fair, it was a lesson I was trying to get across before the game, let alone during the game.

"[But] there were a lot of good things and we are very pleased."

Meanwhille, Harriers tackle Vanarama National League leaders Cheltenham Town away tomorrow.

The Robins had drawn with Oxford City 2-2 in the FA Trophy on Saturday and while the replay will be played Wednesday, 24 hours after Kidderminster visit to the World of Smile Stadium.
