CHIEF executive Colin Gordon said Kidderminster Harriers must make sure the good times around the corner after the club’s relegation fate was sealed.

The Aggborough outfit drew 0-0 at home to Barrow but it was Boreham Wood’s 2-1 win at Aldershot which sealed their fate.

Harriers look set to be relegated to the National North next season, their lowest level since the 1982/83 season.

The drop was inevitable despite picking up 22 points from their the last 18 games, their best haul of a dismal campaign.

The club is still closing in on a new manager so they can continue to plan for next season.

"We know what the next stage is and we will continue to be brave," he said.

"We will continue to bring kids in like Dan Sweeney and will continue to develop and bring in our own, and players who want to play the game the right way.

"I've said to the lads in there to appreciate what we do and what we are.

"The maturity we're showing now is that we are all in it together; we even played two against four at the back because we wanted to go on and win the game.

"That's the players' mentality and they are so gutted for each other - and I'm so proud of them because they just kept trying and kept going."

He added: "We just need to make sure that the good times are just around the corner.

"Talk is cheap and we've got to do it now - that's what we're working on."

But Gordon once again reiterated his desire for Harriers to play his preferred possession-based passing style.

"Boreham Wood won so even if we had managed to win it would not have been enough,” commented Gordon.

"We tried to pass but we weren't allowed to. The players were saying that was the worst game of football they have every played in.

"I am sorry for Kidderminster Harriers going down but I am sorry for football really."
