HARRIERS ended their Aggborough campaign with a spirited draw against a Dover Athletic side who clinched their place in the play-offs.

For his final home game in charge of the team following the week's appointment of John Eustace to the Harriers hot-seat, Colin Gordon named an unchanged starting eleven at Aggborough - the only change coming on the bench as Arthur Gnahoua returned in favour of Jordan Tunnicliffe.

It was a bright beginning that quickly saw both goalkeepers called into action - no less than a minute after Dover's Mitch Walker had held a Lewis Kinsella shot after a driving run, Dean Snedker was forced to come off his line quickly and deny visiting man Ricky Modeste.

Harriers took the lead when Keith Lowe's fine header sailed past Mitch Walker's target from Ben Whitfield's excellent corner delivery; though it was perhaps against the run of play.

Dover almost levelled more or less instantly as Payne, played through, took aim at Snedker only to fire over - visiting skipper Nicky Deverdics then driving a free-kick inches wide of the far post with the Harriers custodian rooted.

The half would end all square and, for Dover's goal, Snedker was equally as rooted to the spot - though there was little he could do as Ricky Miller nipped in between two defenders to latch on to a long free-kick up the field before dispatching the ball past everyone and into the back of the net.

Dover ended the half on top and started the second in a similar vein, and just five minutes after the restart only a fine stop from Snedker kept out a Sam Magri header.

As the hour mark came and went it was still Athletic who looked the closest to adding to the score, and perennial danger-man Miller was always at the forefront of things as he poked a close-range shot just over the top with the goalkeeper grasping.

Arthur Gnahoua made his return from action after an absence of a few weeks in the second half and he sparked something of a surge from Harriers, who went close to another goal of their own through his own shot and, inside the last ten minutes.

Elton Ngwatala who warmed the hands of Walker.

Harriers had one last chance to snatch a winner in normal time and it fell to Ben Whitfield who forced a good save from Walker as he looked to tuck home a well-timed from cross.
