HARRIERS boss John Eustace described Harriers’ 1-1 friendly draw at Stratford as a ‘good work out.’

The Reds commenced their pre-season program well, with new signing Andre Brown opening the scoring from the spot, before the hosts levelled through Richard Gregory.

The match day squad contained other new additions such as Mani Dieseruvwe, Sam Hornby and Sam Austin, as well as a number of trialists, including Jordan Murphy.

After two weeks of training, Eustace was glad to see his players in action.

"I was happy, it was a very good workout for the boys," he said.

"There was lots to work on, which was good, and I'm glad I've seen us play the first game as we want to play.

"I was happy with the shape and the boys trying to do what we want - it isn't going to be perfect this early in pre-season but there were three or four really good movements at times.

"It was a fitness exercise out there... they've worked hard for the last two weeks and they should be fit, they're young lads."

Harriers face their first big test of pre-season at home next Saturday, when West Bromwich Albion visit Aggborough (3pm ko).
