JOHN Eustace has backed his young Kidderminster players to get their away form back on track.

Harriers suffered their fifth defeat on the bounce last Saturday with a 1-0 loss at FC United of Manchester.

It means the Reds have not won away from Aggborough this year, suffering defeats at Salford, Chorley, Brackley, FC United and Barrow in the FA Trophy.

However, their manager has backed his side to learn quickly from their first real set-back of the season.

He said: "Overall I was very pleased with the performance at FC United and just an individual error has cost us.

"There were so many positives to take out of the game and that's what we'll be doing.

"You can learn a lot from your set-backs and we knew there would be ups and downs along the way.

"This is our first real test and I'm 100 per cent behind the lads. I think we just need a bit of extra quality in both boxes and we'll put it right.

"They have been absolutely fantastic all season, which has been the first full season in men's football for a lot of them. They can't rely on more experienced players because they are the first choice players now.

"If the performances had been poor away from home then maybe I'd be a little more wary, but that hasn't been the case. They haven't deserved to lose all of those games.

"The players have great character and are really looking forward to the rest of the season."

Harriers were denied the chance of a quick away recovery when Tuesday night's game at Stalybridge Celtic was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Eustace's men will now look to continue their better home form when they welcome Alfreton Town to Aggborough this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

"It was disappointing the Stalybridge game was off because the players were really keen to get back out there," said the boss.

"We know we need to start picking up more points away from home but the main thing is we see a reaction again."
