How they rated:

Harriers 2, York 1

Hall: Much more to do in the second half but did well to make some important saves late on, especially when clawing away Jon Parkin's late lobbed effort. 7.5.

Pearson: Returned from injury to have a goal scoring impact. Kept his cool to finish well when breaking the deadlock in the first half. A couple of heavy touches at times but defended well late on. 7.5.

Taylor: Gave Reds good balance on the left and got up and down the flank well. Another who had to stand up to the late York onslaught. 7.

Croasdale: The skipper seems to be enjoying playing further up the field this season and worked hard to make a number of vital interceptions in midfield. Also got forward well and saw his shot blocked that led to Pearson's opener. 7.5.

Horsfall: A superb showing from the centre back. Had his hands full with Parkin throughout but really grew into the challenge. Immense late on to make sure his side dug in for the win. 8.5.

Williams: Switched to centre back today following a groin strain for Jimmy O'Connor but slotted in effortlessly. Formed a strong partnership with Horsfall that kept York at bay despite late pressure. One really good block to prevent Alex Pattison getting a shot away in the second half. 7.5.

Sonupe: All energy performance from the attacker who took his start with both hands. Always willing to take on his man and somehow managed to bag Harriers' second as he fell to the ground. Should have wrapped things up on the break in the closing stages but could only fire at Bartlett after another mazy run. 8.

Weeks: Fast becoming Harriers' main man in midfield. He makes this team tick and was again at the heart of their best passing moves in the first half. Always an option and got his side playing with neat ball out to the flanks. 8.

Ironside: Worked hard up front, linked play neatly but didn't have enough sights at goal and found openings at a premium. 7.

Ngwatala: A mixed showing from the talented attacker. Found good pockets of space in the first half but couldn't influence things as he'd have liked, especially when York went looking for a way back int he second half. 7.

Austin: Filled one of the wide roles today and did well without hurting the opposition. His energy was key to Harriers winning the ball back but he too drifted out of the clash. 7.

Subs:

McQuilkin: Replaced Austin on the hour mark and added a good injection of energy into the midfield as Reds looked to press higher up the field midway through the clash. 7.

Wright: Late replacement for Ngwatala as Harriers looked to hold on for the win. N/A.

Unused subs: Brown, Truslove, Vaughan.
