How they rated:

Harriers 0, Harrogate 2

Flatt: An okay debut from the on-loan Wolves stopper and he couldn't do much about either goal. 6.

Vaughan: Worked hard down the right flank and had a good battle with Leesley. Put a few good crosses in after supporting attacks. 6.5.

Peason: Pushed in field to cover at centre back after an injury in the warm-up to Jimmy O'Connor. Did okay in the main but perhaps struggled playing out from the back as Harrogate pressed. 6.

Croasdale: Worked hard to get Harriers going forwards but didn't get on the ball to dictate as much as he'd have liked. 7.

Horsfall: Much like Pearson, he did okay for large spells but did seem to be playing a lot more long balls forward than usual. Perhaps gifted Knowles too much space for the second. 6.

Austin: Another who was full of energy down the left side but couldn't open up the well-drilled Town defence. Had one late effort gathered by Belshaw. 6.5.

Weeks: Couldn't control the tempo as usual as Harrogate shut down the space in midfield. Unlucky to see his first half free-kick hit the bar and bounce down on the line. 6.

McQuilkin: Another who worked hard throughout. Won the ball back and supported attacks but again didn't exert the influence needed in a scrappy affair. 7.

Ironside: Struggled to get into the game for large spells. Had a first half header ruled out for offside and that was as good as it got for the front man. 5.

Ngwatala: Flashes of brilliance from the Frenchman but again he couldn't produce it regularly as the game edged away from his side. Some of Harriers' best play did come through him though. 7.

Sonupe: Struggled to open up the visitors and didn't manage to find a way through in the final third. Replaced by Andre Brown on the hour mark. 5.

Subs:

Brown: Managed a header on goal late on and did give his side more going forwards. 6.5.

Bradley: A decent impact from the bench. Blazed two efforts over but set up a good chance for fellow sub George Waring late on. 6.5.

Waring: Replaced Ironside but missed one good chance from Bradley's deep cross as the game went away from the hosts. 6.

Unused subs: Truslove, Palmer.
