How they rated:

Harriers 2 York City 1

Hall: Took his time to get into the game and flapped at a few early crosses. But made a couple of crucial saves in the second half to keep Harriers ahead. 7.

Vaughan: Got down the wing well and seemed to get better as the match progressed. Not much to do defensively but put in a beautiful cross for Bradley’s first goal. 8.

Taylor: Supported Sonupe well down the left wing and was a greater threat in attack than in defence, but he defended well when he was called upon. 7.5.

Croasdale: Linked up play very well in the first half and got himself into a couple of good shooting positions. Unlucky to be called offside when he deflected Bradley’s first half shot into the net. 7.5.

Horsfall: Not the busiest game for the central defender but he coped well in the air when York pushed balls forwards, especially against Jon Parkin. Made a few sloppy passes towards the end of the game. 6.5.

Pearson: Like his defensive partner, Pearson wasn’t tested as much as he could have been, but handled the attacking threat of York well. 6.5.

Weeks: He controlled the play very well in the first half and had some nice link up play with Croasdale, Ironside and Bradley. Played his part in creating Bradley’s second but also gave the ball away a few times as the game wore on. 7.5.

McQuilkin: Got himself into some good shooting positions as he floated in from wide areas, especially in the frantic first half. Swapped sides well with Sonupe to keep the York defence on their toes. 7.

Ironside: Had good link up play with his fellow front men and was a problem for the York defence throughout the game. 7.

Bradley: A star performance from the striker who finally found his shooting boots in this match. Was a constant threat in attack and is beginning to show his worth. 9.

Sonupe: Was the main source of Harriers attack in the first half and had a couple of good chances which he didn’t take. Needs to be more composed when he gets into good positions as he can be brushed off the ball easily. 8.

Subs: Brown: Not enough time to make an impact on the game after replacing Sonupe late in the second half.

Waring: Came on in place of Ironside with just a minute to go in injury time.

Unused subs: Austin, Smith, Flatt.
