HARRIERS' hope of securing midfielder Chris McPhee for next season were give a boost after the midfielder turned down a move to League Two outfit Cheltenham Town.
The 26-year-old is one of Harriers' main targets this summer after a successful spell at Aggbrough in the second half of last season in the Blue Square Premier.
Harriers have already spoke to the former Weymouth and Ebbsfleet FA Trophy winner about a possible return to the club.
Cheltenham manager Martin Allen was also eager to secure the midfielder, who lives near Exeter. He had already signed Harriers striker Justin Richards.
McPhee has said that he would take into account travelling into his decision.
"It hasn't gone the wrong way for me, it's gone the wrong way for him. It's his mistake in my opinion," Allen told BBC Gloucestershire.
"It's his decision and his choice, he should have come to us but that's life and it's his life and his decision."
