RED-HOT Harriers hitman Iyseden Christie believes his impressive goal-scoring form isn't as important as the team's all round performances.
Christie made it 14 goals in all competitions on Tuesday night when he opened the scoring for Harriers in the 2-1 victory over Ebbsfleet United (read report) .
The forward has hit top form in recent weeks, scoring eight goals in as many games and believes playing alongside Darryl Knights and Matthew Barnes-Homer has been one of the main reasons why Harriers have carved out a four-game winning run in the Blue Square Premier.
"I think the performance level has been upped in the last seven or eight games," said Christie.
"Our performances were good during the whole of March and the boys are on top form.
"The formation has been a massive help. Obviously Darryl is up with me and Matt and it has created a lot more space.
"It may be congested in the middle of the park but in other areas where myself and Matthew are strong we're able to get into good positions and it's paying dividends.
"I think I have scored eight goals in as many games and any striker would be pleased with that, but as long I am playing well it's not really important if I am scoring.
"Goals are a nice bonus but winning is the most important thing and if I can contribute to that then that's brilliant."
Harriers' potency in front of goal has also been matched by a new solidity in defence, which has seen the team only concede six goals in the last nine games.
Despite feeling the effects of playing their fifth game in 11 days on Tuesday, the Aggborough side produced a gritty performance in defence to keep Ebbsfleet at bay.
Christie said: "From the start of the second half Ebbsfleet dominated and had us under the cosh but we broke away a couple of times and could have scored a few goals.
"They never tested us in the second half. Although they had a lost of possession and got the ball in the box a lot they didn't have a lot of shots on goal so it was a good team performance."
Harriers have little time to rest before Saturday's home league clash against Altrincham at Aggborough (3pm kick-off).
"I could do with a little bit of a rest now, if Saturday's game was called off it would be brilliant," joked the striker.
"Obviously when you're winning you want to keep playing and me and the boys are no different.
"It would be good to get another win on Saturday. They beat us at their place so we want to rectify that.
"I think they'll come here and try not to get beat, so we have to break them down and continue what we have been doing in the last four or five games."
