HARRIERS manager Mark Yates bemoaned his team's slow start after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Altrincham at Aggborough on Saturday (read report).
The home team had a mountain to climb when poor defending allowed Altrincham top scorer Colin Little to open the scoring in the eighth minute.
Harriers battled back into the game and Iyseden Christie levelled the scores from the penalty spot to stretch Harriers' unbeaten run in the Blue Square Premier to five games.
Yates was also disappointed with the players' attitude during the build-up to the game and a lacklustre first half, which ultimately dented their chances of making it five wins in a row and handed the relegation battlers a vital point.
"We didn't do enough to win the game. It was a disappointing performance from ourselves," said the manager.
"I've talked about how important it is to start a game strongly and we certainly didn't do that.
"The players were sloppy in the warm-up and we carried that through to the first half.
"We should have dealt with the goal and it summed us up in the first half because we didn't play well or compete enough.
"We got a point out of it but it wasn't a good performance."
