MARTIAL ARTS: Stourport UK Kickboxing Club's Hannah Smith secured her place in the British Championships by seeing off all-comers.

The 10-year-old, who practices Brazillian ju-jitsu at the club, started slowly in the 35 kilogram weight category but got the better of an opponent from Cradeley Heath.

Smith went onto win her next four fights and make sure she will be at the national competition on Monday, November 10.

The young fighter trains with father Brian Smith at the club based on Vale Road.

Students from Kiddeminster's Verve Taekwondo Club took part in the national WUMA kickboxing event held in Worcester and again showed the impact they are making on the competition scene.

Emily Siviter, 9, and Lauren Rhodes, 10, produced the performances of the day and got the better of bigger and older opponents.

Siviter came third in the Korean patterns category and she finished second behind Rhodes in the sparring category.

Joshua Moseley, Lee Grazier and Matthew Cartwright came third in their sparring categories.
