CYCLING: Wyre Forest rider Michelle Brown stamped her authority on the Rudy Project National Time Trial Series with a stunning victory against the clock in round three of the series held at Great Limber, Lincolnshire, on Saturday.
The Brocklesby CC-promoted event was held on a tough demanding course but Brown settled into a fast tempo around the 23.6 mile undulating course and crossed the line in a superb time of one hour,
one minute and 31 seconds with an average speed of 23mph.
Brown now leads the women's overall standings after her victory in round two and fourth place in round one. In the veterans race, Warren King rode strongly to finish in sixth place in a time of
59-36.
Riders took part in the club's open 10 mile time trial at Salford Priors on Sarturday.
Phil Blacker was the fastest for Wyre Forest with a superb time of 22mins and 29secs for seventh overall.
Jon Howard showed some good early season form with a time of 23-15, followed by Carl Heitman 23-26, Lorenzo Buratti 23-56, Gary Bartram 24-04, Dave Wood 24-19, Andy Convery 24-20, Mark West 25-04, Joe Rowe 25-21, Brian Clarke 28-33, Dave Prior 29-33, Chris Poole 29-53 and John Smith 30-50.
Louise Rotheram was fastest junior rider with a time of 31-44, while James Plant was the fastest juvenile rider with a superb time of 34-55.
Sue and Simon Middup-Jones rode their tandem to third place a time of 28-07.
Blacker confirmed his good form when he rode to victory in the first club event of the season held on the 10m Warndon circuit.
A total of 20 riders braved the cold and wet weather, with Blacker setting a fast pace to finish in a time of 23-13, with Lorenzo Buratti in second with 23-53 and Warren King third in 24-20.
