STOURPORT beat Cutnall Green by 71 runs in the Worcestershire County League Second XI Division Three.
Put into bat Stourport were bowled out for 148, after fine bowling by Cutnall Green pacemen Brian Lavell (4-49) and Kevin Tulley. At one stage the hosts looked helpless on 77-6 but stubborn resistance from top scorer Connor Franklin and a late flourish from the tail enders made the score a little more respectable.
In reply tight bowling and fielding kept the visitors tied down from the start. Stourport bowler Craig Homer claimed 4-20 and there were two wickets each for James Harris and skipper Mark Guest, as Cutnall were bowled out for just 77 in 41 overs.
n Cookley's second team got the better of Birlingham, with bowler Simon Anderson (5-21) the star for the Lea Lane men, as the hosts struggled to just 67.
Cookley knocked off the runs after 16 overs with the loss of three wickets.
n Chaddesley Corbett booked their place in the second round of the Worcestershire League Mid-Week Cup by seeing off local rivals Belbroughton.
Robert Stephens (37), Tom Boden (30) and Sam Boden (21) top scored as Corbett made 123-5.
In reply Belbroughton were restricted to 95-7, with Matthew Yardley taking three stumpings and a catch and bowlers Tom Boden and Tom Mole sharing five wickets.
