Top four is in Dan’s sights
KIDDERMINSTER driving ace Daniel Rowbottom enhanced his chances of breaking into the top four of the SEAT Cupra Championship after more impressive performances in rounds five and six at Donnington Park.
The 19-year-old from the village of Mamble near Kidderminster showed his increasing maturity in his first season in the tournament, which is just a step below the British Touring Car Championship.
Two sixth-placed finishes mean he remains in sixth place in the drivers' standings and most importantly just a point behind fourth-placed Daniel Welch.
The young driver survived several testing moments, including one where he made a daring manoeuvre to overtake two drivers at once.
His overtaking efforts were well rewarded with an bonus championship point for most track places gained in round six.
He will be aiming to build on his success in the next two rounds, which are to be held at Thruxton on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18.
