Keeper catches new deal
New contract: Keeper Dean Coleman has signed a new deal at Harriers.
New contract: Keeper Dean Coleman has signed a new deal at Harriers.

KEEPER Dean Coleman has committed to himself to a second season at Kidderminster Harriers.

The 22-year-old former Walsall shot-stopper put pen to paper to keep him at the Aggborough club for the 2008-2009 season in the Blue Square Premier.

Coleman, who has also had spells at Halesowen Town and Bromsgrove Rovers, had to bide his time at the club because he was understudy to Scott Bevan and Chris MacKenzie.

He grasped his oppurtunity with both hands when MacKenzie suffered an injury in March.

The keeper played a big part as Harriers carved out a seven-game unbeaten and did enough to persuade manager Mark Yates to keep him for another season.

Coleman will be hoping to build on his eight starts for Harriers next season.

"I waited a long time to get my chance and I think I took it well when it came and pleased the gaffer," said Coleman.

"As the season went on my confidence grew and I think I did okay in the games I played - the more games I got, the sharper I felt.

"I want to come back fit and ready and I'm looking forward to getting started again."
