KIDDERMINSTER Victoria CC captain Jonathan Wright is hoping his side can triumph in two tough away tests this weekend.
The Chester Road side go to Kenilworth Wardens in the Birmingham and District League Premier Division on Saturday, before starting the Cockspur National Knockout Cup at Cheltenham CC the following day.
Wright is hoping his side can build on a good team performance in last Saturday's winning draw with Walmley and recapture the excitement their run in the cup generated in 2007.
They powered all the way through the regional section before getting knocked out in the national quarter-finals.
"We made it to the quarter-finals last season and that experience has made us hungry to do the same and perhaps go further," said the captain.
On Saturday impressive displays from 17-year-old Neil Pinner, who hit 88 runs, and South African paceman Mario Saliwa, who took four wickets, helped Kidderminster take the lion's share of the points in the league.
Wright said: "It was an excellent result, we've got off the mark and have a decent points total for this stage of the season."
Saliwa is not eligible for Sunday's cup clash, while bowler Ted Baylis may miss the trip to Gloucestershire because of commitments to minor county side Shropshire.
