Hunt flies into Swifts
Town boss Neil Hunt as the club's third manager of the season.
Hunt joined the Walshes Meadow club on Tuesday after former boss Paul Davies quit the job last week.
He takes charge of his first league game at home to Rushall Olympic on Saturday.
Hunt's first task will be to try and bring some confidence back into the side, after a five-game losing run saw the team slip into a relegation battle.
"I don't want to be at a club that is fighting relegation every season," said Hunt.
"The ambitions of the club matches the ambition of the manager and I want us to aim high.
"My main priority this season is to get the team into mid-table and avoid a relegation dogfight."
Hunt's first priority will be to tighten the worst defence in the league, which has conceded 47 goals in 18 games, and assess a young squad that has had its confidence affected by the bad run.
Hunt said: "I have told the players that there is a clean slate. Everybody will be given a chance to prove themselves.
"I am told that Swifts have a good youth team system but it's very hard for a young player to come into the first team if it is struggling. One of the first things I'm going to do is bring in a few experienced players.
"We're also letting in an average of three goals a game so it's important we work on the defence and concentrate on scoring a few more goals."
The new manager is set to bring in former Huddersfield Town, Sheffield United and Worcester City player Darren Bullock into his backroom staff.
"I've worked with Darren for five years and he will bring an edge with him," added the manager.
"I live in Worcestershire and I noticed that the squad has a lot of players from Birmingham and I would like to add a few local lads."
Chairman Chris Reynolds admitted that he had interviewed the 37-year-old when manager Phil Mullen left in October and was impressed by his record. Hunt guided Malvern Town to promotions to the Midland Alliance and Southern League.
"I have interviewed Neil on several occasions and he has just been pipped to the job but impressed me," said the chairman.
"He's got good connections, is very enthusiastic and is knows the football in the area very well."
