Willetts nets Swifts' winner
Malvern Town 1
Stourport Swifts 2
STOURPORT manager Neil Hunt made a happy return to Langland Stadium as he watched his side take all three points from their Worcestershire neighbours.
Hunt helped steed Malvern into the BGB Southern League but his former outfit are now struggling near the foot of the table and this defeat certainly won't help their plight.
Not that it was all plain sailing for Swifts who had to endure a torrid finale as their hosts twice hit the woodwork in their search for an equaliser.
And it was a similar tale early on as Lee Hooper struck the upright inside seven minutes.
Stourport struck their opener on 25 minutes when a Richard Tomkins corner was helped on by Duncan Willetts and the unmarked Pete Wood headed home.
Hooper did find the net four minutes before the break, latching on to a long clearance from keeper Craig Humphries before placing his shot beyond visiting keeper Chris Jay.
Another Tomkins corner led to Stourport's 65th minute winner, Willetts calmly shooting home a curling effort.
Malvern pushed forward in the latter stages and were unlucky not to salvage something as both Hooper and Bryan Craven were denied by the crossbar in the final 15 minutes.
Swifts: Jay 7, Smith 8, ROBINSON 9, Jukes 6, Frost 7, Wood 6, L Tomkins 7, Webb 7, Marshall 6 (Lavery 82), Willetts 8, R Tomkins 6 (Burgess 60, 6). Subs (not used): Ladek, Harris, Williams.
